Teenage Dirtbag - Music Video
The song is about a young man who doesn't feel important in school until he meets a girl.
- The lyrics 'she/he doesn't give a damn about me' portrays how school cliques are a very important thing. If you're not in the right clique then you don't matter to the rest of the school. If you're unpopular then you are unnoticed.
- The camera gets close and then widens showing his struggle to get down the stairs (0:52) this suggests that no matter where he is in school nobody is bothered about who he is or how is. I believe that this is a false representation of young people.
- There is a wide shot (1:42) showing him lying on the floor with nobody helping or even looking at him, this shows how important the cliques are throughout teenage life, i think this shows how bad some things are for young people.
- 2:56 to 3:15 the shot flips between two people at prom, focusing on only them by blurring out everyone else out possibly meaning that when young people have their mind set on something then nothing else matters especially when it comes down to their relationships as nothing seems more important.
